Common Questions About Insurance & Treatment
Does my insurance cover PHP or IOP treatment?
Most major commercial insurance plans — including HMO, PPO, and EPO — cover Partial Hospitalization and Intensive Outpatient treatment under mental health and substance use disorder parity laws. Our admissions team verifies your specific benefits before you begin, so there are no surprises.
What is the difference between HMO, PPO, and EPO coverage for addiction treatment?
HMO plans typically require a referral from your primary care physician before starting treatment. PPO plans offer more flexibility and often cover out-of-network providers at a higher cost. EPO plans cover in-network providers only with no referral required. Our team works with all three plan types and can guide you through the process.
What if I have a high deductible?
Many patients with high deductible plans still receive significant coverage for PHP and IOP once the deductible is met. Our admissions team will tell you exactly where you stand before you commit to anything.
Will my employer know I went to treatment?
No. Your treatment is protected under HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 — the federal law specifically protecting substance use disorder records. Your insurance EOB (Explanation of Benefits) may show that a claim was filed but will not specify the nature of the treatment.
Do you accept Medicaid or Medicare?
Cherry Hill Recovery Center does not currently accept Medicaid, NJ FamilyCare, or Medicare. We work with most major commercial insurance plans including HMO, PPO, and EPO. If you are unsure whether your plan qualifies call us at 856-200-3127 and we will let you know within minutes.
What if my insurance doesn't cover the full cost?
Our admissions team will walk you through exactly what is and is not covered before you begin. We work with patients to understand their out-of-pocket responsibility and explore all available options.
