They are sold in smoke shops, gas stations, and online under names like K2, Spice, bath salts, flakka, and Zaza. The labels change often. The strength changes too. What Counts as a Synthetic Drug
The term covers several very different groups of substances:

Signs It Has Become a Problem
Common signs include buying products from smoke shops, gas stations, or online sellers to get high or to steady out; needing more of the same product to feel the effect; feeling sick, anxious, or sweaty when a dose is late; sudden mood swings, paranoia, or confusion after use; emergency room visits, seizures, or blackouts; and trying to quit and finding the withdrawal too hard to get through alone.
Why Synthetic Drugs Need a Different Level of Caution
